Solar & Wind Priority not charging to 100% on solar

While in sustain with Solar & Wind Priority set, the system never recognizes a 100% charge on solar. Which means it always starts charging at the 14 day interval. Not the end of the world but it seems like 100% charge should be 100% charge regardless of what is providing the power.

Maybe you will need to describe your set up more?
Usually if solar doesn’t do the job it is insufficient.
At least on the few i have done it has managed 100% charge on solar.

The BlueSolar 150/35 is connected to 500 watts of ground deploy solar.

The SmartSolar 100/50 is connected to 700 watts on the roof of my Airstream travel trailer.

oops I missed the batteries

Sorry if I miss read this but if you refer to 100% your battery, then it depend on the characteristic of battery you own. I see on my system or on friend systems that with same power they charge battery around 1% per 10-15 minutes and as soon as they hit 99% mark, it take hour (5-7x longer) or more to hit 100% - and that is something normal for our battery system made from LiFePO4.

Thanks for the input and that makes sense. But my system has plenty of time to get to 100% and it reaches 14.2 which should count as 100%. But the system will still go to charge at the 14 day interval. see charging history attached.

Is your Smartshunt chosen as the system battery monitor and does it reset to 100% by synchronisation, so above the charged voltage AND below the tail current at the same time.

Yes the smart shunt is the battery monitor.
Yes you can reset to 100% by synchronisation.

I don’t understand how the charged voltage AND below the tail current at the same time is taken into consideration with the synchronisation.

See Section 5.7.1 of the manual. A high voltage and low current means the battery is full in other words it has reached absorption voltage AND dropped from Bulk current to minimal current. Also explained in the second link.

SmartShunt synchronisation

Thank you, I read through that and made some changes but we’ll need to watch it for a while now.
