SOC resets to 100% when disconnected

Hi all. I have a MultiPlus 2kVA 120V. My BMV-712 resets the SOC reading to 100% if I turn off the system power or disconnect the data cable from the BMV. I opened the VictronConnect app and noticed that the “Battery SOC on reset” setting was on “Set to 100%”. So I changed the setting to “Keep SOC”. I then charged my system to 100%, turned off the charger, waited for the charge to come down to 99%, and removed the cable from the BMV. When I reconnected it, the SOC went back to 100%. Any idea what might be going on? In case it helps, here are my battery settings:

Battery capacity: 200Ah
Charged voltage: 14.2V
Discharge floor: 0%
Tal current: 4.00%
Charged detection time: 3m
Peukert exponent: 1.05
Charge efficiency factor: 99%
Current threshold: 0.10A
Time-to-go averaging period: 3m

Thanks in advance for any help.

As you were at 99%, when you reconnected were you still meeting the synchronisation parameters, i.e. Above 14.2V and less than 4% tail current, although I admit it should wait 3 minutes. Otherwise, it should have retained the 99%.

I was above 14.2V, but I forgot to take a screenshot before disconnecting, so I’m not sure what the tail current was. The charger had been in float mode for a while before I turned it off. I’ll let it run down again and check those parameters before disconnecting. I’ll report back if it still resets.

Can you elaborate a bit on what you mean by “…it should wait 3 minutes”?

Many thanks.

The charged detection time is 3 minutes, if the current is less than 4% of battery capacity, 8A and voltage is over 14.2V for 3 mins the SOC goes to 100%
