Smartsolar MPPT 150/35 cannot connect via Bluetooth from iPhone but ok on other devices

I just installed a Smartsolar MPPT 150/35 but could not see it on my iPhone. Nothing appeared in the Bluetooth menu nor the Victron Connect app. That was rather annoying but anyway I brought the unit home and put it on a battery and again, no sign of Bluetooth on the iPhone. It does work fine on a Google Pixel, and since experimenting further it works fine on a Mac Mini and an old MacBook, all by Bluetooth. It never works (it’s never seen) on my iPhone 13 (up to date iOS) or an old iPhone 8.

When I connected via the Mac Mini and Victron Connect it suggested a firmware update which took Bluetooth from 2.44 to 2.52. Still no go on the iPhone. Anyone else seen this? It is a tad annoying as this is the only phone I have, but now I know it works on the MacBook at least I have a way forward.

We have same issue with an IPHONE 13 Pro with IOS 18.3.2
It seems to me that the app is missing the Bluetooth toggle in the app that allows Victron connect to use it.
We are baffled— we have borrowed a IPHONE 14 pro with same software and there is no issues and there is a toggle to access Bluetooth on settings for the app.

Any clues

The Bluetooth is on and it does work with other apps.

Thanks - but reading that they at least get the device showing up, then cannot enter the PIN. Here, mine never shows up on Bluetooth, and even trying the app just in case it hides somehow it never appears there either. Interesting that Spiray reported it works on the iPhone 14.

@jmh

Can you perhaps create a service report on your iPhone and post that here (as .txt or inside a .zip)?
The procedure to create a service report is described here: 13. Troubleshooting

No need - somehow my phone had not permitted the VictronConnect app to access bluetooth. I thought I had sorted that before so never checked again. I can now see it on the iPhone.

It’s under Settings → Apps → VictronConnect and enable Bluetooth - it was set to off. Funny that I did not need to do this on the Mac kit, iOS has this extra step.
