Smartsolar 75/15 “ISSUES!"

For the life of me, I cannot get this charge controller to send current to my Lifepo battery. I have connected it directly to the battery and still no current. The app tells me my charge controller is measuring 39.71V from my 2 100w solar panels but the app screen registers no Watts and I see no amps going to the battery. The MPPT sees the battery and measures 14.21V and no amps as there is no load on the battery. I am using the LifePO battery preset as Victron recommended and the battery shows “absorption” but no current or Watts being reported by the app. My shunt (when I had it hooked up in my entire system) shows no current going into the battery. I have checked every connection multiple times and even the direct connection to only the battery shows no charging taking place. The app shows no Yield EVER from the charge controller. Help!!

The battery was used all the way down to 46% and measured 12.9V at that time.

Settings:

battery voltage = 12v

Max Charge Current = 15A

Smart Lithium

Expert mode - off

Charge Voltages

Absorption Voltage = 14.2V

Float = 13.5

14.21V suggests the battery is fully charged. Have you tried running down the battery with a load?

Ever thought of reading the Trouble shooting section of the manual?

A good spot to start looking.

Check the fuse in the bottom of the MPPT next to the terminals, may well be blown, covered in the manual trouble shooting section.

Hey Klim - I’ve been all the way through the troubleshooting section - I thought that was pretty self explanatory.

You are reporting that the mppt reads 14.2v, and the battery is reading 12.9v? No current flow?

Most likely issue is a blown fuse.

Either the fuse in the bottom of the mppt, or the fuse between the mppt and battery.

Yep - it was the fuse. It looked fine when I took it out Monday and then I tested it with my multimeter and it was indeed bad. Thanks everyone. I am operational now!
