Smart solar charge controller not charging

Hi I have an issue with my MPPT 100/20 Smart solar charge controller.

It has a 200W panel connected that arguably only generates 100W. It is connected to a 100Ah Smart lithium liFePo4 battery.

The panel is putting out 20V and the battery is just over 13V. This is demonstrated when I pull the fuse from the PV and measure voltage from The live positive at the fuse to the negative at the controller. If I replace the fuse I measure less than 1V across the PV.

Using my clamp meter I measure 3A passing from the PV to the controller but almost nothing going from the controller to the battery.

I’m really stumped by this and it would be great if somebody could point me in the right direction.

Thanks in advance

Ian

Do make sure that the PV is connected the right way round!. PV+ to controller PV+ input etc.

Oh yes that’s a rookie mistake. Thanks for your help Mike

Check the fuse on the bottom of the MPPT controller.

A common fault especially if there has been reverse polarity :face_with_peeking_eye:

Thanks Julian, all going now.
