SmartSolar 75/15 External Charging

The controller is only used to charge a 100hA battery; the load output is not being used.

The battery terminals of the controller are connected to a fuse block along with several Powerpole jacks and a USB charging connection; a parallel circuit setup.

Can a LiFePO4 battery charger be connected directly to the battery terminals as an alternative charging method without damaging the controller?

If so, what is the maximum current from the battery charger to not damage the controller?

Or should the controller be disconnected from the circuit while using the external battery charger?

Thanks for the help!

Aaron

You can have several chargers on one battery as long as they all have the correct charging voltages. The current is not an issue for the MPPT. My boat system has mains charger, MPPT and engine alternator, all work OK together.
