Charger stopped charging. When I measure PV voltage from wires it is above 30V. But when I connect wires to the charger it shows only 12.8V.
I’ve 2x170W panels connected in series.
Any suggestion whats wrong?
This is often due to the development of a poor connection somewhere in the panels or the wires from the panels to the MPPT. Often a failing MC4 connector. The connection has some contact so you can measure the voltage which requires very little current, but once you connect to the MPPT that tries to draw lots of current the voltage collapses to the battery voltage. Think of a hosepipe with a kink in it.
Thanks for the reply. There was a loose MC4 connector. It started to charge when I pushed it. I’ve have to purchase a new one
