Smartshunt information on CERBO GX, and Touch50

Hi,

We are trying to finish a system that will work and show the battery voltage, and amps from the smart shunt, on a system comprised of the following:

Multi Compact12/2000

Smart Solar MPPT10/50

Smartshunt 500A/50MV

CERBO GX

TOUCH50

and the assorted cables.

It’s a simple system, and we cannot see the information on the SmartShunt, when we look at the “flow chart” screen. On that screen, we see the 6 items.. Grid (disconnected) Inverter Charger OFF, AC loads, Solar yield, Battery information ( seems to be from the Multiplus), and then the DC loads.

The screen with the Circle is showing what’s going on, with the smarthsunt, but not on the the “flow chart” screen. We have tried many ways of getting onto the screen- but no luck.

Since we are using the Smart Shunt as a battery meter /monitor, we have set it up as one via Bluetooth, and then in the Victron Connect Battery settings, we go to the MISC settings, and select DC Energy Meter from the Monitor Mode drop down menu. Once selected we can choose what application the dc energy meter is used in.

Connections on the CERBO are correct, but just cannot figure out why we don’t see that data on the screen… Or is it “working as designed”?

Thanking the community in advance,

Pat

I’m assuming you have a VE.Direct cable to the SmartShunt? And that it shows up in the list devices on the Cerbo?

If that’s all good, it just “becomes” the source of the battery values (see settings, system setup, batteries)

Why? If the shunt is measuring the battery then leave it on battery monitor. Do you have a system schematic?

15.8V is quite spicy, are you sure that the shunt is the only issue?

Yes. all connections are made properly, with proper cable.

What is odd is on the display screen, with the 6 squares, the DC load is the only one that is non functional.

The connections are made to the VE.Can /VEDirect side of the CERBO.

I will see if we can draw one up…
