Smart IP65 Charger 15A/12V not charging, switching between bulk and abs, after firmware update

I have this same charger on the same firmware 3.61. I was mainly using it in power supply mode to run a camping fridge. It worked fine at first, but since mid December it’s unable to provide enough current for the compressor to run. I’ve tried several different settings, and even charged a 60ah battery with it, but the problem persists.

Has anyone else seen something like this? I’m wondering if it’s caused by the same hardware issue that is being reported here.

I’m having the same problems. Bluesmart 15A charger bought in 2021. Updated last month to 3.61 and now it won’t charge battery if voltage is at 12V. Stays at test mode for more than a minute and then switches between bulk and abs. In the app i can see, that voltage is 12.04V and current 0,90A. Also power supply mode doesn’t seem to work anymore. What wonders me is that i charged another battery this night and it charged 80A into it through the night and now nothing. Also it look’s like it’s charging a bit if battery isn’t completly empty (tested with another battery).

I already filled form for customer support, waiting for answer now.

Also made a little unlisted video:

Hi, Blue Smart replaced all three my 12V/15A chargers. Thanks

I’m stil waiting for further instructions (bought it on Amazon from Offgridtec GmbH). Seller said, that they need to examine the charger and since they only reply with one email daily and they did not yet send me further instructions how to proceed this will take a bit longer then expected. I’m away next week, so i won’t be able to send it back before the week after. Good thing the winter is slowly coming to an end so i will need the charger a bit less.

Edit: they sent me message today in the morning, before i went away, so charger is already on a way to them. Hope they fix the issue.

Today i recieved new charger. Great customer service from Victron.

Not realy sure if new one also has 5 years of warranty or warranty is now only the remaining time of the old one?

Works as expected and it also came with latest firmware.

As everywhere, warrantee is coupled to the sales date of the original product.

So if i rma one after 4 years i get another 5 years warranty ?

That’ll drive you straight into chapter 11

In case Victron Energy replaces a product, it will own the replaced product. Victron Energy owns all parts removed from repaired
products. Victron Energy uses new or reconditioned parts made by various manufacturers when performing warranty repairs or
building replacement products. If Victron Energy repairs or replaces a part of a product, its warranty term is not extended: the
warranty will apply for the remaining term of the original warranty term. For example, if Victron Energy replaces a product with a
5-year warranty after 3 years, the warranty of this product will apply for another 2 years, with a minimum of 6 months.

Deleting all of the rest of my answer, and my previous ones, as I was wrong - the new 2025 warranty terms revision has nicely closed the “lifetime replacement” loophole that has been the bane of my existence this past half-decade.

Ok, i had to edit my post again.

Welp, I’ve asked Victron directly and this new warranty policy is indeed the new law of the land, so you’re right! That will make some people very unhappy, but lord it’ll make my job a lot easier!

It’s not a problem. I’m satisfied that such things are solved quickly and also that 5 years warranty even exist. It’s a rare thing, but also shows how Victron can stand behind it’s products. I will sure buy some more of them when i will need them.
