Searching the forums I see many people with the same issue. Their IP65 chargers do not work. They get go straight to absorption, will not charge above 1 amp, will not raise voltage. Voltage actually goes down and battery dies! (because load on battery is using more than 1 amp and charger will not feed more than 1 amp). This is a 15 amp charger. What is going on?

I have messed with the settings. Tried power supply mode (changes nothing). Disable recovery mode, max recondition duration to zero minutes, fiddle with voltage settings. Nothing has any effect.

One time the charger said it was in float mode but the voltage was only 11.5V. Why would it think that is acceptable float voltage?

Frustrating because half the time, the charger works. Half the time it doesnt. Are these chargers not meant to be used with a load on the battery? Are they just meant to trickle charge parked cars? I love Victron gear because it’s so reliable but I’m at a loss trying to find a decent Victron AC-DC charger. Seems like the other versions 22/43/67 often have the same issues.

Your firmware is buggy. Please fix it.

PS: Also what is with the stupid tag selector in this post form?

Please try the following: in absorb/float mode. Set the voltage below the current voltage. For example, if the current is 13.30 volts, set 13.20 volts. Wait a few seconds. Now set to ~14+ volts. A relay will “click”. You can hear it. Some times it works. Try again untill it works. Maybe the Relais is bad in this Version.

There is a relay in them, in some hardware versions the relay sticks.
Sometimes a smack sorts it out. But sometimes its a warranty claim.
Unless you are a diy repair person.

i got the same problem
However, i think my device is out of warranty.
Do i have now one electronic brick or could this issue be easy (cheap / free) solved?

the trick with changing voltage did not work :frowning:

Sometimes it is hardware. Open and check the relay.

Due to bad luck this will be our 4th RMA item in less than a year. :frowning:

Love the products but the warranty system needs to be worked on.

Hi, I have same problem after FW update with Blue Smart IP65 12V/10A- swtching between bulk and absorption… But if I switch from normal to high mode charger works. It is not relay problem…
