Shutdown and disconnect Victron Smart Lithium batteries for indoor winter storage

I have a Victron house battery bank on my boat with Ve.Bus BMS. I have Cerbo GX installed.

The boat will be stored in indoor heated (to approx 10C) storage for the winter, with no access to shore power. Storage time will be approximately 6-7 months. The storage facility requires all batteries to be disconnected.

My queries are as follows:

  1. what is the shutdown process for the batteries, especially to stop the smart features from discharging the batteries during storage? I see I can disable the bluetooth on Victron Connect, but are there other smart features that will remain active?
  2. There are 5 batteries connected in parallel in the house bank. Do I disconnect each battery, or is it Ok to just disconnect the + and - of the whole bank from the Quattro ?
  3. How do I re-enable bluetooth in the spring if I use it to manage the battery?

I could not find this information in the manuals. Advice from those with experience with winter storage of Victron systems in boats/RV’s is welcome. Thanks in advance.

WARNING

From the Smart Lithium manual Section 6.3.1

IMPORTANT*: Disabling Bluetooth is an irreversible process. Once Bluetooth has been disabled, it can never be re-enabled.

The datasheet states that if fully charged, they will store for 1 year. Therefore, if they are charged to 90% or so they should be OK for 6-7 months.

I can not help you further on the general winterising question as my boat stays on shore power, but thought giving you the Bluetooth warning was worthwhile. I do think the app gives you lots of dire warnings of you try to disable the Bluetooth.

Thank you for that. I had not seen that in my review.

I will leave the Bluetooth on.
