Seelevel tank sensors

Thinking of installing SeeLevel tank sensors. Can anybody tell me how to integrate it with my cerbo GX. I want know if I can display both % and gallons? If someone could help with that I would appreciate it.

Percentage and gallons both.

You need the RV-C version of the Garnet SeeLevel panel. The sensors get wired back to the Garnet panel. The RV-C output from the panel connects to the Cerbo with 2 or 3 wires. I put the old non-RV-C panel in the wet bay.

Shouldn’t the NMEA 2000 network do the same thing?

It should, just replace RV-C with N2K when selecting Garnet panels. You need a Garnet panel to interface with the SeeLevel sensor bus.

I’m not advocating one way or another, but there is a new kid on the block called Fathom Tank Radar. See here: https://www.fathomradar.com

We’ve only installed them once so far. There are definitely pros and cons between Fathom and SeeLevel. Fathom requires installing the sensor on top of the tank vs the side like SeeLevel. That alone can be a no-go for RV’s where you don’t want to drop the tank to get to the top. However, the installation is simpler and doesn’t require a superfluous Garnet panel just to provide a CAN connection to the GX device. If you have the tank dimensions and tank volume you can have the seller program them for you vs buying the programmer yourself. Once each sensor is configured for its tank, it’s a very easy installation. The SeeLevel sensors, though, and tried-n-true and don’t require access to the top of the tanks.
