thaks for this - got there in the end. Wish details like yours were more obvious - essential to avoid frustration.
I think when Victron developed these they probably spent hundreds - thousands of hours on the Dev. then when it came time to do the manuals they forgot to include many essential details that they forgot a new user will need when approaching it fresh out of the box.

What is the correct BAUD Rate ? , i couldnt find that anywhere , nor what determines the baud rate for other types of battery or configs.
BMS can runs at 250kb/s, though this can be set to 500.
The battery’s BMS profile is where this is set, this is where you would choose how it communicates.
Some batteries have dip switches, others are done in software and some just work out the box.
You also need to be sure the CAN bus is correctly terminated on each end.
500
I’m going to take some time to make this really good.
I’ve made some changes on the GitHub incorporating your feedback. But if it works for you at the moment, give me some time to rewrite everything with tests and debugging.
Hey mate,
That is very good of you, thanks. I did get it to work, but I’m sure you can clean it up and make it better. There are a few things that would make the life of a newby a lot better (eg that the username is “root” , and where to put the executable etc etc).
Appreciate your returning to this and looking after all those interested.
cheers
David
