The Ekrano panel will replace in the future the panel from Burstner, if I have found a solution for the tank sensors and the voltage read out of the starter battery.
I love the options that are available, first I have tried the Raspberry Pi (what also is a really nice feature!!) but with all the vibrations in the RV I purchased a Ekrano panel.
Small questions for Victron:
The Orion XS reads out the voltage of the starter battery. Is there an option available to display this value on the main screen of the Ekrano?
And I have seen that the BMS NG does not read out the values directly to the Ekrano, they pass true the charger/inverter and options like temperature are disappearing. I need to place also an extra shunt to check my dc-loads. And this option is already available in my NG Lithium battery, is this available in the future to display this?
I also wanted to share an update on my installation:
The EBL is now controlled directly from the Ekrano panel using relays. It took some time to figure out how the control of the bistable relay works. On the original control panel, a +12 VDC signal is present, and the relay is activated by momentarily pulling this signal to ground.
A small warning for others attempting this: when controlling the relay from the Ekrano, make sure that Node-RED switches the relay output off again very quickly after activation. Since the EBL expects only a short pulse, keeping the relay energized continuously can cause unwanted behavior.
For anyone looking to connect to the EBL 119:
Connector: 12F – Block 3
Pin 9: Switch EBL ON
Pin 12: Switch EBL OFF
Pin 11: Appears to provide power for the bistable relay coils
Pin 2: Ground (used as the reference ground in my setup)
Everything is working well now, and being able to control the EBL directly from the Ekrano has made the system much more integrated and convenient.
