I’m replacing a Cerbo GX which has faulty networking. I’ve been sent the replacement and I’ve done this previously in simple installs using the VRM portal->Settings->General->Replace … HOWEVER … this particular installation has ESS (external BYD battery), Venus OS Large, node-red and node-red dashboard installed and configured.
My question is - will all the settings and battery/ESS and node-red stuff be transferred to the new Cerbo GX, or will I have to manually enable Venus OS large and somehow transfer the old node-red graphs and configure the battery in the replacement?
Just want to know what I’m getting into before I get started!
I’ve added a pic in case that helps understand the type of install …
You will still need to manually configure the specific GX settings, large image etc.
So export all node red flows first as well.
The replace procedure only sorts out the VRM side.
Ah - I see - many thanks for letting me know. I’ll prepare copious amounts of coffee in advance then!
Going to have to figure that out as the original box has completely dead networking and I can’t get onto it with Wifi or Ethernet … I guess all the data from the last few weeks which has not sync’d to VRM will go too?
Indeed not. But if you can, onsite, connect to the internal wireless AP of the old cerbo, then you can skip through the various settings pages and jot down what you need.
if you are offline, best take a copy of the large images with you on an SD card, or update the new one beforehand.
