Hi there this is my first post here i just had a question i am installing 12v noctua pwm fans to my multiplus-II i want it to work automatically activate at a certain temperature is that possible and where do i connect to on the multiplus-II and what i would need thanks
There are different options from full external powered and pwm controlled (third party/DIY) to
Depends on the hardware your have and what you need/want.
I am wanting to setup pwm controlled
I have a multiplus II x120 and lynx distributor and power in and bmv 712 shunt and I want to setup 4 x pwm fan to run on a thermostat
@Whitevan
I Have external 80mm fand PWM contraled by Chess Intel-4-wire Controller.
See picture left MP2 with two fan mounted with cable ties below.
Do I need any additional hardware
Well yeah. At least a small PWM controller with a temperature sensor. You’ll find these on Amazon and aliexpress, or perhaps even a local store. I personally use a 48 to 12 volt DC/DC converter to power two fans.
With two fans here the inverter temperature went down from over 50°C to 33°C so it can actually help a lot.
Here is a basic system that was created by someone else and I have verified that it works. The INKBIRD ITC-1000F (12Vdc) monitors the temperature acting like a relay so when the temperature goes above or below a programmed level, power is distributed to the Noctua NA-FC1 PWM fan controller which will permit you to manually set the fan speed. The FC1 then controls multiple Noctua PWM fans.
