Limited Charge Current with Cold Batt & Generator

Hello

im new to this Community and would like to say hello first of all.

I run 2 Victron Systems, one 3 phase ESS and one 3 phase Off Grid on two different places.

The last few months was almost no sun in my country so i added a gen to the off grid system.

After lots of problems getting the generator working in the system i now have the issue the Multiplus wont charge more than 15-17A DC until the Battery reaches 7 Degree Celcius. Input limit is 14A AC. If there is sun the MPPT can charge up to the low temp BMS limit of 65A. I really dont know what setting this could be…

The off Grid System is 3x MP2 5KVa with BYD LVL 15.4 and MPPT RS 450/200.

I really dont know how to solve this and would love any advice.

Thanks in advance

Patrick

Hello @faezich , the difficulty getting the multiplus to sync to the generator may have required you to check “Weak AC” on the multiplus. I don’t really know why you cannot charge at a higher rate but I do know that if Weak AC is checked your battery charge rate is significantly reduced.

I hope this helps a bit.

Pretty sure that BYD batteries limit charge current below 15c.

Yes but 65 Amps but i cannot use them with the Gen the MPPT uses it though
