I have psychologically recovered from the fact that the SOC is wrong due to the lack of a smart shunt, and thus my batteries are not charging correctly.
2 Renogy 300ah lithium batteries.
As such, you can see in the mobile app screen record video that the bulk charge is full at 95% (via settings applied in the USB connected Victronconnect computer app) and I assume the batteries are no longer charging because the voltage is not moving.
However, the wattage coming in is still showing around 600 w (charging capped at 6 amps, plugged into an outlet in the parking lot at my work).
Is this wattage still going into the batteries? … or does the mobile app just showing that and not actually putting the wattage into the batteries?
The reason I ask is when I charge the batteries with a generator at 28 amps (strapped to a hitch mounted cargo carrier on the back of the van like an APU), the same activity happens where the voltage doesn’t move but it still says there’s 2000w Watts coming in, and I don’t want to waste the generator fuel if the watts are not actually going into the batteries.
I assume the voltage is correct but I cannot confirm with a multimeter, because it would take some effort to access the batteries (I am generally inexperienced with electrical; the Victron/batteries were installed by a truck outfitting company).
Should I shut down the generator when the victron connect Mobile app shows 95%, and assume the voltage is reading correctly? (Recharge again when voltage shows around 12.6?)
Thank you for any responses
