Orion xs settings AGM

Hi,

I’ve just installed an Orion XS coupled with a 120ah AGM leisure battery in my T5, normal 140a alternator. Absorption advised as 14.7V and float as 13.8 by manufacturer. I have manually set these in expert mode as I couldn’t find a suitable agm preset, only spiral.

Any more advice on other settings please? I’ve put it in charger mode, disabled equalisation etc.

What other setting levels would people advise for example, engine shut down detection and input voltage lockout? I’m a bit lost.

Hi Niel,

Use the AGM spiral. You have edited it to match your battery needs.

Leave these alone unless there is a problem.

Summary

The factory default setting will work with most conventional and smart alternators but can be re-configured with the VictronConnect App.

You are at the test and see stage.

The only other one I can think of is limiting charge current to the c rating of the battery. Many an AGM have been destroyed by that

Spiral-cell batteries are AGM batteries.

Just fine-tune your charging programme according to the manufacturer’s datasheet.
