Orion XS 50/50

Hi! I have 2 Orion XS 50/50 installed feeding directly off my Lithium bank. The 2 seperate batteries banks they are charging are Yellow Top spiral gel for aft/bow thrusters. This setup has been working fine! Still is! Monitoring this on Bluetooth.

However I recently added the 2 Orion XS to my Cerbo GX Mk2 for online monitoring and the chargers increased to above 16 volts! No programming on the Orion supported/changed this.

I am no expert on the Cerbo but I found out that turning off DVCC solved the problem. However now I am unsure if that will affect the charging of the Lithium bank which is charged by the Multiplus II. The BMV 712 is connected to the Cerbo and set to monitor the Lithium.

Or is there any other settings that will allow DVCC to be on without interfering with the Orions?

Thankyou! :motor_boat::bouvet_island:

Your problem is that the default assumption is the Orions are charging your main (lithium) battery bank and are controlled by DVCC. The thing is, the Orion output goes under external control, but the output voltage is not the main battery voltage. To cure this there is a setting to tell the Cerbo that the Orions are loads on the main battery so DVCC does not conttol them. This is only available on Venus OS 3.60 and later firmware so you may need to upgrade to get this setting. I am not sure where the setting is for this option.
