Orion Smart & smart solar working together

Hello everyone,

this is Jose from Spain, first thanks to all for your contributions and help.
I recently installed a Victron Orion smart 12/12/18 and a MPPT smart solar 75/15, everthing is working well and they are installed as manuals recomendations.
I would like to ask you a question:
on main victron app screen, where we can watch all Local devices connected, i noticed that when i’m on the road with sun i see that for example the MPPT is charging secondary battery but Orion Smart is in flotation mode. Other time i can see that orion smart is charging and Solar regulator is in flotation mode. It seems that cannot work together at same time and charge battery with dual power of both devices. Is this normal? Why i cannot see never that both are charging secondary battery with maxium power?

PD: both systems are set with AGM battery features

As the battery gets full, one device will reach absorption voltage first and the end of absorption first and go into float. If your battery can absorb the charge from both devices the voltage will be below absorption and both will produce. It is only the short period as the battery gets full that this occurs.

The two chargers may have slightly different settings for the end of absorption. I do not know if it is possible to set them to the same fixed absorption time, this may help a bit.

If you add a Smart Battery Sense or a SmartShunt then you can set up a VE Smart Network over Bluetooth so they share an identical voltage reading which may help, but one may well float before another.
