I needed a step up DC converter from 12V to 24V, to power a 24V circuit(not to charge a 24V battery)
So I purchased a converter from a authorized dealer online and I had asked about the labelling of the unit. It is marked as a “Battery Charger”. He ambiguously answered that the unit is marked as “Victron Energy Orion 12/24-Volt 10 amp DC-DC Converter Non-Isolated, High Power” and I went ahead and purchased it, believing that maybe a stock image of a slightly different unit was used for the listing. When I received the unit, low and behold, it says “battery charger”. I’m at a bit of a loss because I don’t need to charge a battery, but power a DC circuit. I was curious if I could get away with it and use it as is, or if I should return it. I tried to find more in depth manuals for this unit, but no luck. The manual that it comes with isn’t great. I think perhaps this is an older, discontinued model as the QR code for product support is a dead web page.
Any help would be appreciated!
