Hi I have recently purchased an inverter 12/375 230v VE.Direct UK Serial number HQ2547*****
I’ve been using the inverter to power a TV that draws 110w. Although the inverter body remains cool and the air venting out of the unit is also cool, the internal fan starts up with a loud whoosh every minute or so, it runs for only a second but is very noticeable and disrupting to TV viewing
Is there a way of disabling this feature ?

No not on the ve direct units.
Is it’s orientation horizontal or vertical?
110w form a 385 VA is over 1/3rd the rating it is possible it is getting hot.
I have tried in both positions, it is not getting hot, not even warm
i cant see why the fan should run, espcially for just one second
Yeah. It doesn’t make sense if its not heat related.
Are you using anything like the eco mode?
Hi, so today i tried the inverter in Eco mode, still have the same result
the fan runs quietly, but cycles, every minute or so the fan goes completely silent for 10 seconds
and then a whoosh for a second … AI seems to think this is normal behavior and i should use an additional
USB silent computer fan

If it’s anything like the vebus systems, fans don’t purely run based on temp. They proactively run based on load.
Vebus systems have the benefit of a fan assistant that will suppress the fan, but also derate the inverter.
Not something that will help on a vedirect unit.
Well i guess my answer was there either way, its not caused by eco mode 
I haven’t noticed the same behaviour on the 800VA one. So it interesting
