I’m want to integrate devices (wind, Log, Rudder, angle) from a nmea 2000 network into venus os (running on a cerbo gx). In the next step I’d like to send the payload of the devices via mqtt to a mqtt client and store them in an influx DB. NMEA 2000 network is connetced by a VE.Can - NMEA2000 Converter the the VE.Can Bus. Data from the cerbo is visible on the NMEA2000 Multi function display. NMEA2000 in - doesn’t work out of the box.
My challenge is that venus os recognizes the devices on the VE.Can Device List - nevertheless the data - for example from the rudder sensor - is not available - i guess due to the fact that venus doesn’t know how to interprete the data that is coming from the device. I
n my case i have connetced a B&G Go7 Plotter, a B&G Rudder angle sensor and a calypso anemometer. The Data from the GPS of the B&G Plotter is recognized and available on mqtt. Is there any way to tell Venus OS what the connected devices are in order to make the Data accesible? I have found several instrucitons for integration of tank sensors from nmea2000 networks - however i wasn’t able to find informations on integration of new (unknown) sensors.
