NG 200ah battery

Hi, I have just received my new NG battery and in between the positive and negative terminals there is a small black plastic cap.

I can’t find any reference to it but was wondering if anyone knows if it is for ventilation.

In Australia, if we install the battery inside the living area of an RV, we must ventilate the battery to the external of the RV.

As the NG battery itself states it is IP67, I may simply be able to extend this to the outside of the RV and not go through the hassle of a box.

Hi Paul, yes, this black cap is the vent.

I have found a 20mm conduit bend is a simple press fit into the top cover and still allows room for the black vent to operate. I will extend the 20mm bend with flexible conduit to an outside location and protect appropriately.
