I have just bought two 24v 200 Ah NG batteries and one has the black plastic vent on top and one doesn’t. Why would this be?
The vents appear to be a recent update, mine from Jan 2025 do not have them, so you probably have the suppliers last and first batteries from different batches.
I noticed in a recent Victron presentation they are adding vents that accept 3/4” (imperial measurements) pipe thread. Is this just a best practice or does the ABYC or other marine standards now require venting overboard? It’s just something I’m curious about. Is it part of RVIA standards? Thanks!
