Hi guys
Just purchased a new global 520 from eBay it connects to my phone app and to the MPPT via local but doesn’t connect to the VRM just says connecting and blue light keeps flashing. I have connected an external antenna, that hasn’t helped. I have left it for two hours outside. Is there anything I’m missing?
Cheers for the help.
I have had my GlobalLink for almost a year now and the last three days it has been completely off-line. Never happened before. Know one other installation which is exactly the same. I guess there is some kind of central error but I don’t know if that is valid also for your installation.
When you enter it in the app, what does it say? Connecting?
If you tell the forum where you are located it might be easier for someone to say if there is 4G/LTE connection in that location.
Yeh just says connecting. I went out in the van today with it connected to battery to see if it gets a signal. Still didn’t connect. Location is Stewartby Bedford England.
Mine has come back alive now but only on one the networks with lowest reception so it is only transmitting very infrequently.
Have you seen this thread?
Thanks tried mine one last time, still not working so i am returning it and going to purchase a Cerbo.
Cheers
Problem remains. When in low reception area, as where the boat is on winter storage, it loses connection to the first selected operator which in my case is the one with lowest “number” (Telia, Sweden, Stockholm area) which has quite bad connection there. It then tries, and succeeds, to connect to another, better, operator a few times but after a couple of days it just stops trying anymore. Then it remains dead until I travel to the boat and disconnect the power of it and after 30 seconds reconnect the power again. Then it starts again and connects within a couple of minutes and keeps on trying to connect to another, better, operator for a few days before it dies again.
When at the boat, before reconnecting, the app says Last connection: Never.
I really would want the device to be stable and reliable. What can I do?
Serialnumber starts with HQ2239.
Was that an answer to your question?
