As an Apple user, I currently use Homebridge and via plug-in called MQTT Things and MQTT enabled in Venus OS, I am able to expose devices such as temperate sensors, relay switches, etc. to Apple Home app.
But with Matter being widely accepted and implemented by all major brands (Apple, Samsung, Amazon, Google), it would be nice if Venus would be able to natively expose such devices via Matter to the Smart Home eco-systems…
For those people like me, who assume matter is a physical substance, I found this:
It would be nice, if totally out of character, for this type of standard to be made ‘open’ (or public access)
This should help in a quick proof of concept:
node-red-matter-bridge (node) - Node-RED.
Connectivity wise this would then be matter over wifi, and/or to devices connected via thread rather than wifi, over a thread border router.
