My Multiplus 48v/500ah Sees grid power but does not use it

Hi, I’ve just purchased a Multiplus 48v/500ah, Cerbo GX and a Pylontech US2000C and hooked it all up. But the unit is not using grid power.

The Cerbo GX sees the Multiplus and the battery:

The inverter is working and I can put load on it:

And the line in (Grid power) seems correct:

I check the votages etc. But all seems correct but the “Active AC input” is disconnected.

I’ve looked all over but there are very little settings I can change. I can change input current and the state of the unit (off/charging etc.).

Any idea how I can resolve this?

Thanks,

BTB

Is AC input set to grid in settings → system setup?

How is the inverter programmed?

Yes

Yes:

There is very little to program on the Inverter via the Cerbo GX. I can only change input current and the state of the unit (off/charging etc.)

Correct.
It is programmed with either ve config or victron connect and an mk3 or over the vrm. You interact with the inverter through the GX.

There are full guides for pylontec

Thanks! I’ve did not have to change the settings as they already were correct. It looks like the switch for the grid remains “off”. I’m at a loss, do I have a faulty system?

maybe, but you need to check the inverter settings as was said before. I don’t think you can check these settings over bluetooth.

edit; check these settings

Is the small Multi used or new?
Just as an experiment… Switch the Multi to “Charger” mode… then it should connect to the mains.
But be sure to check the settings for the “charger” … make sure your charging voltage isn’t too high … !!!

It inverting so not likely it is faulty at this point. It more likely has an ac ignore function programmed. Or a possible wire mix up between line and neutral.

If you did not interface with this device :down_arrow: using victron connect…

Then you haven’t seen the programming.

It’s new. When I set it to Charger nothing happens. I hear 2 clicks of a switch nothing happen. All leds are off.

I’ll order this device. Thanks for the help!

How and where did you connect the little Multi?
As mentioned above… maybe the phase and neutral are reversed… Is a protective conductor connected?
AND … Its a new OR used Device ?

“I hear 2 clicks of a switch nothing happen. All leds are off” … That doesn’t sound too bad… maybe he’s testing the supply line and just not switching it on… :grimacing:

It’s a new device. The setup is 25A breaker → Shelly PM1 → 16A Breaker → Multiplus 48V/500ah
I’ve checked the phase and neutral they they were correctly wired.

Nice bright red emergency power outlet. :ok_hand:

Is the Cerbo dead? Or just not in use?

Is your system registered in the VRM? …

And by the way… the 25A fuse is much too high… it’s only a 500W multi… so it can be much smaller… and you should definitely use a residual current device at the output

The Cerbo is in use works. The system is in VRM through Ethernet and out-of-bound through a wifi/5G router.

25A fuse came with the power distribution pannel that was installed by the electricians. The 16A braker is to be able to manually turn the power off to the Multiplus.

Thanks for the suggestion of the RCD, that’s a good point. Although it’s only network equipment at max 200W, I did not think about it.

Looks like the Cerbo is in Stealth Mode …
Then download the “VE-Configure” software onto a Windows PC …
Then log into VRM … Go to “Device list” … “VE-Configure remote configuration” … Then download the current configuration and open it …
Then continue …

… you can also upload the configuration file here … there is an upload function in the message window …
