My Multiplus 2kva never re-bulks (re-enters bulk phase) when continuously connected to shore power unless I reboot the unit. Even though my batteries have dipped well below float voltage at times, like when I use PowerAssist to invert beyond our shore power limit. I have lithium batteries with the “lithium battery” checkbox checked (enabled) in the charger profile.
Per other forum links my understanding is the Multiplus is supposed to re-bulk when voltage drops 0.2 below float on lithium batteries. Is that information correct or incorrect? I have 13.1 float and my batteries have dropped to 12.2 for about 30 minutes when inverting on PowerAssist. Yet it never re-bulks or goes to absorb voltage. And VRM confirms VE.Bus state has never gone to bulk or absorb since I connected to shore power about 1 month ago.
It’s not a big problem because I can manually reboot if I need to charge them up, or use repeated absorption interval to enter bulk on a calendar schedule (arbitrary, not ideal), or I could write a Node Red script to enter bulk when SOC drops below 30%. But it seems like this behavior is not how Victron designed Multiplus to work so I am curious if something is wrong (bug in their software) or with my setup, or if I’m confused about the intended design?
Unfortunately Victron doesn’t actually publish their re-bulk thresholds as far as I can tell. I only found the forum reference above. It’s possible they have some hidden (and uneditable) params in the battery profile that is enabled by checking “lithium batteries”. Or perhaps re-bulk is only a Multiplus II feature which my Multiplus 2000va (older) is lacking?
