Multiplus II in bulk mode but charging slowly

Hello,

I’m having an issue where the Multiplus II is in bulk mode, but is charging very slowly, where the loads outpace the charger and the batteries drain. The system consists of a Multiplus II 2x120, Cerbo GX & GX Touch 70, SmartShunt, and is connected to/coexists with other RV-C components.

I expect and need it to be charging in this state, but can’t figure out why it is not. Any thougths or help is much appreciated.

Hi Trevor,

Can you show us the charging parameters set in the multiplus

You’ll need VEConfigure software to interrogate this which you can easily download and there in no longer any need for expensive cables, you can connect via VRM.

See

There are also some tutorial videos showing you how to connect the software to your system.

You effectively download your configuration file, amend it and upload it back to the multiplus.

Also we’ll need to know your battery specifications. Type i.e. chemistry nominal voltage, max charge voltage etc

Regards Les

Conclusion:

We’re using a multiplex system with RV-C and it has a function where it can lower the charge rate, and later when it was trying to bring it back up it would stop because sometimes the status being reported from Cerbo was erroneously reported as the target of 100% prematurely even though the effective charge rate was still much lower. It sounds like Victron is going to update software to correct the error, which should resolve the issue.
