New Multiplus II 48v 5000VA setup only slow charges battery

Hi,
I have the following setup:
Multiplus II 48v 5000VA
Smartshunt 500A
Cerbo GX
16cell EVE 306Ah
JK BMS

Somehow my battery is charging very slowly although it’s at 26%.

Smartshunt settings should be fine:
Battery capacity 306Ah
Set charged voltage to 56
tail current to 1%
Peukert to 1.0
Charge efficiency to 98%

Multiplus settings:

I also installed ESS:

Any advice or reason why the battery is charging so slow?

Why have you got ESS installed but no solar? Above min soc ess will only use solar to charge, you have none so it won’t charge.
Suggest you follow some of the online training and brush up with the relevant manuals.
Change the mode to keep charged and it will go to grid. This is just a result of poor config.

Sorry, minor detail i do have Solar, but not yet included in the setup.
@nickdb , i agree i’m learing. that’s why i asked.
Traing is fine but it misses the link to my specific setup.
I will look into adding the SolarEdge SE3500H HD-WAVE

That is why. Change modes or remove ess until you are ready.

@Nick thanks, i changed the mode, now it’s charging!

Glad to hear. For general background the ESS design guide and free video online training is well worth the small amount of time it requires. It will help you with context as you build your system out, particularly when adding pv inverters which often trip up people unfamiliar with the ecosystem.

@Nick thanks again, i will check the online training. This one right? Victron Energy - Victron Professional

Correct.

@nickdb, i think i understand how the setup should work. I have the PV inverter in the system but today i saw that i had a surplus of PV but the system wasn’t charging the battery. ESS is on “Optimized without battery life”. I did not install a Grid meter in the (carlo gavazzi) yet. But in the config i slected the inverter as source. I only use the AC in not the AC out. What am i missing? Or does it take some time to start working?
The documentation shows this should be the right setup: 4. Configuration
