Hi,
I am new here. I bought a multiplus 48/8000. Victron advises a battery cable of 2x50mm2.
50mm2 can carry 150 A, so 2 cables carry 300 A
For simple wiring I want to use just one cable of 95mm2 cauge. This can carry 285 A . Lenght inverter to baterry is just 1 meter.
Battery max charge/discarge current is 150 A.
Is this ok you think or is this not advisable?

Connecting with two wires increases the contact area & reduces resistance.
Follow the requirements and specifications!

Also am not entire sure you will fit 95mm in through the case anyway and wrestling that cable into place will cause much gnashing of teeth.
Ok thanks all. I think I will go with 50mm2 according to specs.

@lxonline and @Bma It will fit if the spec is the same as the 10kVA
Lol. That’s what i was referring to. Sometimes its the bend or the lug that is an issue.

Once it’s tapered it was fine, if the section is like the American style with the big cutouts it would have been fine without tapering
