Hello,
I have a vessel currently with 4 x 220AH AGM batteries in 24V series/parallel configuration. The existing battery cable feeding the domestic circuits is 35mm2 (link cables and positive/negative output cables to distribution busbars).
We want to install a Multiplus 24V/5000.
The Multiplus manual specifies 2 x 90mm2 cables and a 400A fuse for a run greater than 5 metres.
Do I have to upgrade all the current battery bank cabling cabling? Can I just upgrade the link cables between each of the two 24V battery banks and have one 90mm2 cable from each bank to the fuse block?
What is the best way to achieve this? What type of isolator switch/fuse block can accommodate 2 x 90mm2 cables best?
Any help would be much appreciated.
