Hi without all the info about your system (settings, components, wiring diagram) its impossible to help..
Hi Marc.
I’m an electrician so wiring is not the issue here.
The multiplus 2 is being used purely as an export inverter, it is setup using ESS, the grid setting is 3kw but only wants to export 2kw and the solar regulators are shedding power.
The inverter exports when it’s meant to when the batteries are full but only to 2kw even though it’s set to 3kw.
I’m thinking maybe a voltage setting issue now.
We still need more info as stated in my previous answer to try to help you
You would be surprised how many errors some electricians can make, always pays to not eliminate the obvious, far too often topics opened here are for basic errors.
Without a detailed spec and config overview, no one can help.
We don’t even know which inverter you are using.
If it’s a 3kVA it will never do 3000W..
Hi Marc.
Sorry I haven’t responded, been tied up with other things.
Just to clarify the inverter is 3000 va which gives us 2850 watts at .95 power factor.
Have recently read on a power forum that when grid tie is selected in the multiplus inverter settings the output is limited to 80%.
Which would give us 2250 watts, and that’s the maximum we get as things heat up the export power becomes less.
I couldn’t find anything in the multiplus manual that says grid tie is limited to 80% of power.
Can anyone confirm this is true.
I fully understand why this would be done with the heat coming from the inverter for hours on end.
If I had of known we would have purchased a bigger inverter, will research more thoroughly next time.
Thanks for any feedback.
The 3000va multiplus is 2400W Continues at 25 degrees, not 2850w, if warmer it derates to lower values
