Multiplus 2 48/5000 Current

I’ve looked around without really finding a clear answer, sorry if this is explained somewhere else.

What is the max current for the MP 2 48/5000 under the following conditions (I’ve put what I think the current is already)?

On Grid
AC-In : 50A (In/Passthrough)
AC-In : 17A (Out/ESS)
AC-Out-1 : 67A (50A + 17A)
AC-Out-2 : 67A (50A + 17A)

Off Grid
AC-In : 0A
AC-Out-1 : 17A
AC-Out-2 : 0A

Assuming the above correct (or not), does the power assist work across all inputs and outputs?

e.g. No excess needed from grid and using MP to provide all power from batteries…

  • Prove 10A to circuits upstream on AC-In, there is 7A left to assist on AC-Out-1 / AC-Out-2?
    or the other way round
  • 7A being used on AC-Out-1, that leaves 10A available for pushing back out AC-In or on AC-Out-2?

Thanks for your help clarifying this, as the documentation is a little unclear; still only mentions 3kva model in the power assist calcs, no mention of ratings on ac-out-2.

If you use ESS (feedback via ACIN) it is rated 4400W as opposed to off-grid 4000W. All loads downstream of an energy meter (internal or external will be powered up to the maximum inverter rating before pulling in grid power if there is a shortfall. In off-grid mode only the ACIN1 will be powered up to the maximum 4000W.

Thanks @ejrossouw , interesting note on the 4400 rating on ac-in backfeed as apposed to the 4000 on the AC-Out’s (odd that this is more than AC-Out)

I note you mentioned ACIN1 in your last sentence. Did you mean AC-Out-1 ? As i thought thats the only terminal thats live when off grid?

My typo, yes. ACOUT2 is disabled in off-grid mode (gridcode none and no DC to AC conversion allowed), ACIN disconnected (relays open) and all loads powered on ACOUT1.
