Multi RS - Do you need to upgrade through 1.27 to reach 1.28

You need to go through the 1.27 to upgrade to 1.28?
Or the firmware was not updated inside VC 6.30?
Below printscreens from VC6.30 changelog and what it says inside VC6.30, on both Windows and Android versions.

Your screenshot cropped out the VictronConnect version number shown in the bottom right, but my 6.30 offers to update me to v1.28 (from v1.26)

Mine says 6.30.1
Updated today to this version…

Hi @alexpescaru,
Can you check it again if the v1.28 is now offered?
If not, can I ask you to reinstall the app?

Thanks,

Yes, now it’s offered.
New app with the same 6.30.1 version in playstore.
Thank you!

VictronConnect started to contain the firmware for the rack mount Multi RS (0xA444) and the product is still not to be found on the market…

That’s “normal” the SolarSense or the Orion Tr Smart with 48V output also was in VictronConnect a few months before it was available to order.

Let’s hope that they will be “the last” few months…
I almost given up hope and wanted to install the Multi RS hardware in a 3U rack mount enclosure.

You already own an Multi RS 6000 and want this time an rack mounted version?

For 3 phase you better have three identical units.

It’s much elegant to have the inverter and batteries, all rack mounted, in a single cabinet… :slightly_smiling_face:

For 3 phase… sigh… Multi HS19 is 3 phase, rack mounted… another long waited device, seen only on fairs…

Hi @thiemovanengelen
Sorry for directing the question at you, but it’s a bit technical and during time you answered to many firmware related questions.
If I upgrade the firmware for Multi RS from 1.16 (my case) to 1.28, for sure the settings will be imported correctly with all the corrections - if necessary - made.
But, after that, if I were to downgrade it back from 1.28 to 1.16, will the settings remain OK, or will be treated like a corrupt setup, as the 1.16 doesn’t know about the - probably different - layout of the 1.28?
Thanks in advance!

Hi @alexpescaru

The settings will be properly migrated when updating from v1.16 to v1.28.

When downgrading, the settings will not be treated as corrupt. It could however be that some settings have returned to default as the migration does not happen both ways. In this case (Multi RS, v1.16 → v.128), specifically check the aux settings. The best way to prevent problems after downgrading is to save the settings before upgrading and restore them when you downgrade.

With kind regards,
Thiemo van Engelen
