Mppt voltage different to battery voltage

I’m having an issue with my mppt 100/30. Reading a voltage of around 14v on mppt (through the app and with voltmeter) when battery is at 12v.
No charge because the mppt flicks into float with high voltage. I’ve checked my wiring and everything seems good though I’m going to rewire to be sure.
Wondering if this could be an issue with the mppt itself ?

I doubt the MPPT is at issue, it is your wiring, either positive or negative, or a blown fuse or breaker / isolator not connecting. Use your multimeter at each connection.

Ate you using cheap no name breakers such as shown below, these have very poor reliability.
