Modbus to CAN Bus Communication for FZSoNick Battery Integration with Victron Multiplus II

I am currently using the Cerbo to facilitate communication between my batteries and inverter via CAN bus. However, I now have a sodium battery from FZSoNick that only communicates via Modbus. Could you recommend a specific device for Modbus to CAN bus communication between the Cerbo and the batteries? Additionally, do you have any documents that could assist me in using this battery with the Victron Multiplus II inverter? Where can I find the protocol needed for the converter to ensure proper communication?

Thank you for your time.

Hi @m.jb
See that Victron has already implemented something like that.
If you have knowledge of programming / scripting, look on Venus OS, on /opt/victronenergy/dbus-fzsonick-48tl folder for details.
From what I understand it seems to be a bridge between modbus and d-bus in order to bring battery details directly on d-bus.

hi @m.jb
we install these systems in Belgium.
the RS485 USB from victron is used to communicate with the battery.

Thank you for confirming that’s possible and works!

@ApolloTechnics,
Can you connect the RS485 -USB directly to a Multiplus II GX? or do you need a Cerbo GX to handle the communications?
