Modbus parameters on CerboGX

Hi all
I’m trying to extract some of the displayed values on my Cerbo GX to I can see them in my Home Assistant. I’m struggling to get the ‘Solar Yield’ value (summed from a Victron MPPT DC controller, plus an AC-coupled PV system) into Home Assistant.
I’ve combed the Modbus spreadsheet but can’t find this pesky value! Can anyone give me any pointers please?

Many thanks

  1. you need the current “Modbus register table”
  2. you have to activate Modbus TCP and then 3. you can see the available IDs under available services …

Hi Steffen
Thanks for your response.
I’m already getting a lot of Modbus info out of the system - so Modbus TCP is already active and I’m familiar with identifying the services on the Cerbo GX. What I can’t find is any Modbus register on any device that offers me the ‘total yield’ parameter so I can monitor the total PV power into the system.

I guess I could try reading this via MQTT - I’ve not tried that yet.

Any other suggestions on how I can get this value out?

Thanks!
Tim

now I have understood it
I also have to add this value from register 809 (L2) and 850 …

i am using this value with modbus unit “100” and id “789” (“PV Power”)…

I haven’t even tried that yet …
I thought the reference to ‘789 Solarcharger’ was then only from the Mppts and not from AC-side connected inverters

I am surprised that this works with ‘ID 100’ …

this doesn’t work for me :frowning:

The solarcharger on 223 reports the DC PV power on register 789. But I want the sum of both the AC and DC PV values. I can get them individually, but just not the total displayed on the CerboGX. Hmmm.
Thanks!
Tim

i guess “your mileage will vary” - according to what hardware you are using. For me, it’s a RS 450, which is connected via CAN - that’s probably the reason for “100”…

Hi Steffen
Are you saying you have to add the two values together in Home Assistant in order to get the total instantaneous PV power? I’m a bit of a HA newbie so not got my head around summing sensor values together yet…

Thanks
Tim

how is that linked to the Cerbo? In remote console in services=>modbus-tcp=>available-modbus-services you should find listed all modbus units “known” to your Cerbo…

it’s connected to the AC side of the Victron. There’s no data telemetry between the AC-coupled PV inverter. I’m using a current sensor connected to the Victron Multiplus so it knows how much AC PV is being injected into the system.

AC-In or AC-Out?
AC-In would be unit 100 with registers 811-813 (3 Phases), and AC-Out 808-810.
I am not aware of a register which does provide the sum of DC- and AC-coupled PV power…

I have Mppts and an AC Out WR on L2 … I add both values together in my Siemens Logo 8 and then give them to the display …
I don’t do anything with HA … but there is certainly an ‘Additions’ function
