Maximum length of temperature sensor victron

Hi All,

I will move all Victron equipment to a new technical shed outside our house in the garden, a little 10 meter away from our house.

The Cerbo and 7” display however will remain inside the house to keep track every day how the system is performing.

The temperature sensor wires are 2 meters max and thus too short. Making them longer with unshielded higher resistance leads is not recommended by Victron.

Is there a way to add 6 temperature sensors to the system that measure 6 battery packs and communicate this values to the Cerbo, 10 meters away from the batteries, Multiplus2 5000’s and Smartsolars 250-100’s?

Then I will be able to monitor stuff dayly and keep track on how the system is working (and yes, I have the VRM site always open on my phone  )

Easier to keep Cerbo and display in the shed, and have a display powered by a small computer accessing the remote console view.

however, most temperature probes can be extended, but the lower the resistance of the probe, the less accurate they will be due to the added resistance of the cable. Cerbo does not provide a 4 wire resistance measurement option for temperature probes.

Maybe your better off with a cheap android tablet with the new gx display option

Thanks for the suggestion BUT, android =Google and teherefore banned from our house.

Hope @Victron can chime in to explain how the tablet is used to ensure NOTHING goes to the datagrabbing fingers of Google

Thanks, I will measure the resistance and at 1kOhm resistance, two 2,5mm2 wires should be possible though….

Yes i get it, i’m no fan of android also, but it does work really good!
