I am installing a Cerbo GX into my Victron Li Ion battery system on a catamaran. The distance from two of four chargers is over 40’ due to wire routing limitations. Two of the four chargers can be connected directly with VE.Direct as they are within the 10M length of VE.Direct cables I have. That leaves a VE.Direct port and various USB and CAT5 cable ports on the Cerbo GX to connect to the other two chargers, more than 40’ from the Cerbo GX. I’m mounting the Cerbo GX immediately adjacent to the touch screen which I plan to install at the nav station (did I say the cable needs to be more than 40’ from the Cerbo GX? Groan). Any suggestions?
If you’re using the Victron tablet app, you can place a nice display anywhere within wifi range, it might help with the adjacent constraint. I wonder if USB extenders over CAT5 would work?
