I am trying to solve a problem with a family member’s setup. They have a Lynx smart bms hooked to (4) LiFePo batts for a total of 800ah at 12v. the BMS is flashing #35 and won’t get past it. Batteries are at 97% and no loads on the system currently.

Have you read the manual, this tells you what the code is and what to do about it.
This is precharge has taken too long. You could have a short circuit, the precharge resistor in the BMS could have failed, or most likely you have DC loads turned on and/or the multiplus capacitors are taking too much power. Turn off DC loads and try. If this fails, disconnect the solar controller VE Direct or VE CAN cable and let the solar power charge up the DC system and Multiplus capacitors then try and turn the BMS on.
