We have 600ah of Lifepo4 and a Victron Quatro and Cerbo GX system
Our problem is that when on mains charging or when the generator is on the charger function goes to absorption way before the 14.1v set by VEConfig when you select the correct battery type.
I have re visited VEConfig and rechecked what I can see and nothing seems wrong, I have resent the settings to the Quattro and done an off - on but nothing changes.
My assumption is that the Quattro charger should stay on Bulk until 14.1v ? But currently as ‘I right this we are at 13.8 volts with the generator running but we are on absorption ?
I am not getting any answers on this ? Do I need to re phrase it ? Is it not clear what the problem is. In brief charging goes to absorption and or float at the wrong voltage ?
Really need some more details on the system. Where is the voltage being reported eg smartshunt. Or built in BMS? Is Dvcc on? If you don’t have a live bms that talks to the cerbo (drop in lithium) have you installed the voltage sense wires to the Quattro?
Voltage is from Smart Shunt.
DVCC is off I think - what is that anyway ?
Quattro is conected to Lifepo4 bank.
Cerbo GX is conected to Quatro by ethernet cable.
Both solar conectors are conected to Cerno by Ve direct cables.
BMV is set to lithium and 14.1v fully charged.
Generator is auto controlled by Cerbo GX relay, using SOC and Battery Voltage also.
If you are high rate charging there may be voltage drop from the Quattro to the batteries. DVCC can allow for voltage drop by telling the Quattro to use the Smartshunt voltage. Read the section in the Cerbo manual on DVCC, you need to enable SVS (share voltage) and select the SmartShunt. You should also check you do not have any warm connections indicating a high resistance.
