Linking Solaredge HD wave 5000 to the Victron Multiplus-II 48/8000/110

Heey everyone,

I have managed to figure out all the right settings and all the right combinations to get everything to talk with eachother. Yet for some reason no matter what I try I can’t seem to figure out what settings to put the Solaredge, Router, Cerbo. To import the Solarproduction into the VRM platform.

I know that this data is not required as the Multiplus will adaptively change the frequency to make sure the Solaredge does not overload the inverter. However I would like to be able to have the data imported.

For some reason it does not automatically detect it.

I have already enabled modbus Tcp at port 502 on the 172.16.0.1 page of the the Solaredge and similarily also changed one of the serial ports to modbus. Like some guy in Germany had to do in order to get it to work. But for some reason it still does not work. The solaredge is about 5 years old. Does anyone have suggestions of what i can still try?

With kind regards,
Lars

Did you set the Modbus device id to 126 in the Solaredge?

Heey Dick,

First of all, thanks for replying.

I have put the RS485-1 on device id 126 now.
I have put the RS485-2 on Modbus
and the modbus TCP port at 502.

I will wait for the solar edge to go out of the programming mode but it does not seem like it has done anything for the Victron to auto detect the solar edge. ALso filling in the IP address manually does not seem to do anything.

Is this what you meant?

Lars

Oh after the programming mode turned off it worked perfectly!

Thank you so much!
