Lead acids were allowed to go flat

Hi,

I recently had a Victron Easy Solar installed by a dealer, as well as a smart shunt. It is connected to four lead acid batteries.

We accidentally turned off the switch between the solar panels and the inverter so it wasn’t receiving any input, but the inverter then allowed the batteries to run so flat they were on 3v. Shouldn’t the inverter have protected the batteries from going flat?

we thought the batteries might be ruined, but after charging them back, they seem to be back to normal.

If you configure it to shutdown it will, if not, it won’t.

You can ‘get away with it’ if it is immediately recharged fully through all the stages with full absorbtion time back to float.

Definitely revisit your inverter programming.
