Issue integrating Deye RW-F16 battery with Victron MultiPlus-II GX

Hi everyone,

I’ve recently installed a Deye RW-F16 (16 kWh, LiFePO4) battery connected via CAN to a Victron Energy system with a MultiPlus-II GX inverter.

Although everything seems wired correctly, I’m facing two issues:

  1. The inverter displays energy flow in reverse — when the battery is charging, it shows as discharging, and vice versa.
  2. The battery won’t charge beyond 80% SOC, even though it should go up to 100%.

Has anyone experienced these issues with Deye batteries in a Victron setup?

I’d appreciate any advice or solution to ensure the CAN communication is properly interpreted by the Victron system.

Thanks in advance!

It is an unsupported battery, and if you do a search you will find another topic like it.
Deye need to make sure their comms meet the Victron spec, but as it is unsupported, you will have to rely on other users who have had the learning curve aleady. It isn’t something Victron are likely to assist with.

Hello! Did you get it working?

I have a similar setup, same battery, CAN connection, but using a Cerbo GX. My battery charges to 100% but the energy flow is always displayed in reverse. The battery is detected as LG Resu by the cerbo.

The issue with these batteries is that the BMS Firmware can only be updated through a Deye Inverter. Is there a setting in Cerbo where this information can be reversed? Is there a way to confirm that the BMS is actually sending bad information to the Cerbo?

Thank you very much

Hello

I have 6 units of the Deye F16 lithium batteries.

How did you make yours communicate with the Victron inverter? Kindly put me through

Hi Paul and everybody,

I just read your message concerning problems of compatibility between the Deye RW-F16 and the victron multiplus II GX inverter.

This generate a lot of anxiety as I bought the same devices just a few weeks ago.

Do you finally found any solution ?

If yes, May I kindly ask you to share this one please.

Awaiting your reply and thanking you in advance..

I also have the same problem, I have 10 Deye lithium batteries all connected in parallel, i connected the cable from the psc port of the last battery to the BMS port on my cerbo Gx and i could not see the batteries, i went to services under settings in the cerbo gx and changed the speed of the VE Can port to 500kbps and plugged the cable there but i still did not see the batteries. I am using type B cable with rj45. Please what should i do?
