The VRM complains periodically about too many connections and lately basically just refuses to load tabs.
If I take my PC, which was on this shared connection, and move it to a cellular modem, everything is good again.
There are about ten people here on one internet connection (fiber optic, tons of bandwidth).
At any given time we’d all have at least one VRM page open.
So to the outside world, we’d look like “one machine with tons of tabs” on the same IP if that throttling algorithm is not taking this scenario into account.
Are you only connecting to the main web portal or are you making API/MQTT calls as well - the latter does have rate limiting.
Are you connecting to different sites or overlapping use to the same one?
You assumptions are correct. VRM does IP-based rate limiting, so when there is an office with 10 people making requests, that adds up quickly.
We will review the current limits and potentially increase them to help with this. Over the years, the number of requests made from VRM increase due to the newly added features, but the limits roughly stayed the same.
