I have an IP65 Blue Smart 15A charger and recently also bought the 25A version of this charger for faster charging. It has a 10 AWG / 6 sq.mm charging cable and comes with one set of battery clamps and one set m8 Eyelet connector of the same wire gauge. These don’t seem to be available separately.
I have a few sets of the optional accessory Victron eyelet connectors already installed but these have thinner wires (12 AWG or even 14 AWG). I use one each on two vehicles and another on a portable Li-ion 12V battery pack. Unsurprisingly, they get warm to unpleasantly hot at 25A.
Since the proprietary Victron connector used on these chargers isn’t available separately, I can’t easily make up my own upgraded charging cables. The only workaround I can think of is to modify both my chargers by replacing the victron connectors with Anderson PowerPole connectors and making up new accessory cables but I prefer to keep it all original.
I know I could elect to use the low current (10A) mode on the 25A charger but that defeats the whole purpose of buying the faster charger.
Any Suggestions ?
