I have a IP22 12/30 (3)Blue Smart charger in my caravan and connected the output cables from the old charger to it. These cables are of adequate size at the charger connection for the 3m run to the 100ah Lithium battery but somewhere along the way, in an inaccessible spot, they reduce down to a substantially smaller cable causing the charger to go straight to Absorption , even when the SOC is well under 60%. My question is can I run another cable of sufficient size to the same battery from one of the other outlets while leaving the existing cables connected ? Thanks.

If I were you I would disconnect the old cable with dubious connectivity and run a fresh pair of cables.

Thanks, Yes I think that is the way to go but the existing cables are connected to the main fuse box supply . If I leave the existing cables connected to the battery, run new cables and terminate the old cables at the charger end that should still work.

I repositioned the charger closer to the battery, ran new 6awg cable . Charger is working perfectly now.
